Framework

Designed inGenuity (DiG) is a student-directed learning framework developed to increase student engagement and promote deeper learning.

This framework lays the foundation for standards-based curricula, design thinking, Project-Based Learning (PBL) and many other pedagogical practices.

It was inspired by the Agile Movement that grew out of the software industry, using fast, iterative learning cycles to exponentially increase rates of learning and development.

Process

The journey to learning that comes alive with personal meaning and collective purpose begins with a week-long workshop for educators.

Catalyst Guides lead Learning Pods through a week-long, personalized experience that enables them to directly and authentically experience collective learning in a powerful new way.

When a school comes alive with purpose-driven learning, it’s seen, heard, and felt everywhere.

This Learning Pod becomes a Creative Pod that is supported to courageously create new learning experiences with both their colleagues and students.

Experience

Sparking Curiosity

For students, the process begins with sharing their curiosities with each other and the educators.

Inspiring Research

Students are guided to follow their curiosities using their lived experience, social connections and internet search engines.

Creative Thinking

The DiG is a learning framework based on the latest developments in neuroscience and understanding of the potential of the human mind. By connecting their curiosities, curriculum-based standards and the stated intention of the learning, students are guided to become the empowered creative problem-solvers that the world needs.
